i miss autumn and the way the sun shone through your hair. you told me mine looked like fire. cold steel against my flesh is all i want right now. because it's the closest thing to your lips against my neck. your teeth on my wrists. your eyelashes brushing my thighs every time you blink. i miss autumn and the way the leaves fell from the trees. the way you fell to your knees at my feet. has it really been two seasons since you left me? i don't remember snow that stuck out, stark against my hair. [why didn't the fire melt the snow?] i don't remember aprilshowersthatbringmayflowers. the sun shines too bright without you. i miss autumn and the way i could see your breath. i knew you were alive. and our breaths would float to the heavens. together. i can't stop drinking the liquor your breath constantly smelled like. i wonder if i poured it over my head and lit it on fire if maybe then you'd come back to me. you said my hair looked like fire in the autumn. |

Life is the art of drawing, without an eraser.
John Gardner
I really love this poem, it's raw and stark, and calls out to the reader.
Setting the hair on fire is an excellent line.
Well done.

It feels like you lost some one that you truly loved. And their never coming back.
Like your stuck in feeling that was once there.
Hah. I'm sorry, I don't think I could really explain it.
the idea of the fiery autumn is such a strong image too

I want to see the light leave your eyes.
because it's the closest thing to your lips against my neck.
your teeth on my wrists.
your eyelashes brushing my thighs every time you blink."
that is insanely lovely.
